In January 2018, the airports of Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar and Gelendzhik operating within the Basel Aero airport holding served 715,039 passengers (+22% year-on-year), the holding informed.
The airports served 60,195 international passengers (+61%), 654,844 domestic air passengers (+20%). The number of departures increased by 11% to 3,066, cargo and mail handling reached 707 tonnes (+13%).
The passenger throughput of Krasnodar International Airport increased by 27% to 284,640; the passenger flow at Anapa International Airport increased by 17% to more than 40 thousand, the passenger flow at Gelendzhik airport increased by 41% to more than 2,200.
The passenger flow of Sochi International Airport increased by 19% to 387,779, including more than 372,000 domestic air passengers (+17%), approximately 16,000 international passengers (+92%).
Basel Aero established in 2007 manages Basic Element's airport assets. Since June 2012, it has been operating as a joint venture of Basic Element, Sberbank of Russia and Changi Airports International (Changi Airport Group's wholly owned subsidiary). Today, Basel Aero is managing airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, Gelendzhik and Anapa. The airports account for more than 7% of Russia's total passenger traffic and ca. 1.5% of the total cargo flow.
In 2017, the airports of the Basel Aero airport holding served 10.857 million passengers (+9% year-on-year).
